Using HTCUT with Claude Code? After you install a new version, HTCUT offers to update its Claude skill or plugin. To update the plugin yourself: claude plugin marketplace update htcut then claude plugin update htcut@htcut, and restart Claude Code.
Finish a video and HTCUT reviews how it went, suggests fixes and lets you send them to us. A new polish sweep catches the one-frame problems that slip past a watch-through.
Project Done reviews a finished video and sends the suggestions you pick to the HTCUT team
Polish sweep finds flash frames, look-aways, broken cut-outs and dead time
Ripples keep background plates under cut-outs, so no more black frames

Project Done (File ▸ Project Done… or htcut retro): when a video is finished, your Claude reads what HTCUT recorded and the Claude Code sessions that worked on it, and suggests fixes for HTCUT, its Claude skill and your own setup. Tick the ones you want and Send them to the HTCUT team — text only, anonymous unless you add an email, and you see exactly what's sent first.
Polish sweep (htcut polish, also in the Pre-publish Checklist): a cut-out over nothing, broken cut-out frames, looking away at a clip's edge, and hidden leftover clips. Every export and review copy is also scanned for one-frame flashes and stretches where nothing moves.
Ripple edits keep a looping background plate playing under a cut-out speaker when you insert or lengthen, instead of leaving frames of black.
Animated graphics at 4K: a frame that fails to render is retried on a fresh page rather than failing the export.
Release notes in the update window now show their formatting and links.
Claude skill: tips from real projects — gradients instead of large CSS blurs, fitting giant words to the frame, a −1.5 dBTP limit for YouTube, and Project Done when a video ships.
Fixes: speech-edge checks on long recordings measured the wrong moment (audio drifted 0.7 s over 17 minutes).
HTCUT now tells you when a new version is out, records on-camera takes from the Teleprompter, cleans up noisy footage and keeps preview playback smooth on heavy timelines.
Update notices in the app, with Claude skill and plugin updates
On-camera pickups recorded from the Teleprompter, matched to the shot
Reduce noise for grainy footage, and a smoother preview on heavy timelines

Update notices: HTCUT checks for a new version once a day and tells you in the app — or choose HTCUT ▸ Check for Updates…. After an update it offers to update its Claude Code skill or plugin too.
On-camera pickups: the Teleprompter (⌥⌘T) records takes from your iPhone or webcam, then places each one on its line — framed, voice-matched and colour-matched to the shot around it.
Reduce noise for grainy footage (Inspector ▸ Reduce noise or htcut denoise), and a foreground/background split for a blurred, separately graded background (htcut mask split).
Smoother preview: heavy effects play from preview-sized copies, identical shots share one decode, and htcut perf finds stretches that stutter (pink on the render bar).
Voiceover: the recorder has its own window, works with input-only mics (iPhone Continuity, USB lavs), warns when a recording was silent, and htcut vo check compares each take with its script line.
Camera Flash transition with a matching shutter sound effect; sped-up voice sounds natural instead of tinny.
Timeline: the time ruler stays at the top while you scroll the rows, so you can always scrub; failed background jobs that no longer matter clear themselves.
Fixes: an export crash with back-to-back ducked music beds, and htcut check warns when the video runs past its ending sting.
